The GP practice team is the main point of contact for general healthcare for NHS Scotland. They’re there to support you to get the right kind of care when you need it.
GP practices are made up of multi-disciplinary teams which include:
- General Practitioners (GPs)
- Advanced Nurse Practitioners
- General Practice Nurses
- Practice Manager
- Receptionists
- Community Links Worker
- Money Advice Workers
- Pharmacists
We offer general medical services.
Contact your GP practice if you:
- have an urgent care need
- have an illness that does not improve with self-treatment
- are worried about your health
- have an ongoing health condition
GP practice teams will have confidential access to your past medical history.
They also provide the link to other health services and work closely with other health and social care workers.

Chronic Disease Management Programme (long term conditions)
An annual review for most chronic illnesses so that you don't have to attend a separate appointment for each one.
- Respiratory Illnesses - Asthma / COPD
- Cardiac / Heart problems

- Hypertension - high blood pressure
- Chronic Kidney Disease
Annual Housebound Reviews
Our housebound patients will be visited in their own home by the Practice Nurse who will carry out a holistic review of their health.
- Cervical smears
- Cardiovascular disease prevention programme
- Health Checks for elderly - for patients who do not attend the practice for other reasons.
- Family Planning including Contraception
- Post Natal Care
- Child health surveillance
