Keppoch Medical Practice is participating in the Green Impact for Health award. This aims to help us to improve sustainability and to reduce our impact on the environment.
The practice team will work its way through an online toolkit to meet a long list of criteria. These include taking measures to improve our recycling record, to reduce unnecessary use of energy, and to encourage our patients to recycle their inhalers (see poster in waiting room). There are criteria directed at helping our most vulnerable patients with issues such as fuel poverty, social isolation, and to encourage self-management among those with long term conditions.
Green Impact is a programme run jointly by the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), the University of Bristol, and NHS Education South West. It was originally designed by the National Union of Students (NUS). Over 200 organisations are currently taking part.
