Removal from practice register

Removal from practice register.

We follow the British Medical Assocation guidance for removal of patients from the practice register. There are 3 main scenarios:

  1. If you move out of the practice boundary you will need to register with a GP practice that covers your new area. Please inform us promptly of any change of address to ensure you are able to continue to access healthcare.
  2. Violence and abuse. Please see our Zero tolerance policy. Violence or threatened violence requiring police involvement will result in immediate removal from the practice register. Otherwise patients will receive a warning letter and further episodes will result in removal from the practice list.
  3. Breakdown of doctor-patient relationship.
The practice team is committed to providing compassionate, safe, and high‑quality care for all patients. We recognise that each person’s experiences and circumstances are unique, and we are guided by the principle that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and understanding.

We strive to be non‑judgemental and to welcome all individuals to register with the practice, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, medical condition, age, lifestyle, appearance, or social and economic status.

We understand that people may sometimes express distress in ways that are challenging. Our team will make every effort to respond with patience and empathy, while also ensuring the safety and wellbeing of staff, patients, and visitors.

To support a safe and respectful environment, we have  Zero tolerance policy. Harmful or abusive behavior toward any member of the practice team is not acceptable. Abuse includes personal or aggressive comments, the use of offensive language, threatening gestures, or physical contact that causes fear or harm.

Other behaviors that place the safety of the practice community at risk and are considered unacceptable include:

Any patient has the right to change practice if they wish. To do this, you can submit a registration form to any practice that covers your area of residence.
