Minor Illnesses & Pharmacy First

NHS Scotland's Pharmay First is a service in which your local pharmacy can provide assessment, advice, treatment and referrals for many minor illnesses as well as uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women aged 16-65 yrs and for minor skin infections such as impetigo for those over 2 years old.

Minor Injuries Unit - Stobhill Hospital

The Minor Injuries Unit at Stobhill Hospital is open every day from 9am until 9pm. 

If you have a minor injury, such as a cut that need stitches, a broken bone, a sprains or minor burn, please call NHS 24 on 111 and ask for our Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) service.

NHS 24 will give you advice on what to do next. This may include a video or telephone consultation, and/or, a face-to-face appointment.

Children should be taken to The Children's Hospital, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.  

 

Mental Health & Counselling

Sexual Health

The Sandyford is the specialist sexual health service for NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. The closest clinic is located at Woodside Health & Care Centre, 891 Garscube Road, Glasgow G20 7ER

For any issues early in pregnancy please contact the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit:

Phone 0141 221 5317. Phone lines are open Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm or Sun, 8.30am to 4.30pm. On Saturdays, contact the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital instead.

If you have an emergency when the phone lines are closed, phone 0141 201 3452.

Hearing Aid Services

If you wear an NHS hearing aid, there is a drop in service in Possilpark Health & Care Centre on the last Monday of every month from 2-4pm.  They can help with

  • Replacing ear mould tubing
  • cleaning
  • supplying batteries
  • advice and support

Podiatry and Foot Care

Patients can self refer to the Podiatry department for any new problems. You do not need to see your doctor to be referred unless you are housebound and need to be referred to the domiciliary service. 

Physiotherapy

You do not need to see GP for physiotherapy referral. Please complete a self-referral form this can be submitted online or posted to your local physiotherapy department.

Stop Smoking

Support to stop smoking is provided by Quit Your Way  - click for contact details and request a call back

Dental Services

If you are registered with a dentist and you feel you have a dental need, in normal working hours, you should contact your dentist on their usual number. They can provide advice, antibiotics or analgesia.
 
If you are currently a patient attending Glasgow Dental Hospital for specialist dental services and are experiencing dental issues that cannot wait at this time, please contact  0141 211 9730 or 0141 211 9607
 
Outside normal working hours and at weekends, if feel you have an EMERGENCY dental need, please contact NHS24 on 111.
 
If you are not registered with a dentist and have an EMERGENCY dental need, you should contact the Emergency Dental Treatment Centre on 0141 232 6323 during working hours and NHS24 on 111 out with normal working hours and at weekends. A walk in service is not available at this time.
