Home Visits

Doctor's bag Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate that patients are sometimes too ill or infirm to attend. If you do need a home visit, please call reception on 0141 800 0840 between 9 - 9.30am as the doctor needs to plan visits early in order to ensure that patients with the greatest need, such as those with life-threatening illnesses, are seen.

You should only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. When you request a home visit, the On Call Doctor will phone you to asses whether your medical condition requires a visit.  If the doctor decides that a visit is needed, he or she will then decide how urgently you should be seen.  The doctor may have many patients to visit and will have to schedule visits depending upon the nature and urgency of each patient's medical condition.

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP.  You should also be visited at home by a Health Visitor if you have recently had a baby, or if you are newly registered with the practice and have a child under five years.
